For As Long As It Takes

For as long as it takes the waiting prevails And the waiting and waiting and waiting, Until the sun shines and the wind fills the sails With our dreams and their contemplating. For as long as it takes the sighing ensues And the sighing the sighing the sighing, Until the day dawns and the sky turns to blue And our tears are finally drying. For as long as it takes the sleeping persists The sleeping and sleeping and sleeping, Until the light shines and the darkness desists And our souls light a candle for keeping. For as long as it takes we are burning the flame And the burning, the burning, the burning, Reminds that our lives will once more be the same As we yearn for your time of returning.
