For All I Was I Am No More

If thou art dream or fantasy Then sleep shall be my destiny If thou art gone when day breaks new Then I shall die from wanting you For all I was I am no more But struck with love into my core A stranger here at heavens door And all I was I am no more

I love the way this poem flows breaking the lines so the reader searches for the next one. Holding on to each line of love. Kind Regards, Laura.

I love it. Are the huge spaces for dramatic appeal? :-)

Sometimes I try to will the reader's thoughts to reach out for the next line. The answer is yes. I get a mixed revue.

Michael, it is a mystery how we can be so attached to what we were. But change and transition are always coming. I hope you are in a wonderful place.

Duke it is a poet's lot to ponder such things as you are carried through the mystery to the creation of your next poem.I hope you are also in a wonderful place.
