For Aj

Do you remember when we met?
(It seems so long ago).
Our eyes met in that crowded hall
(someone I had to know).
I longed to have you in my life
(my friends all told me 'no').

It wasn't long until we kissed
(you took me by surprise).
I lost my heart and lost control
(when gazing in your eyes).
I loved you then, and want you still
(but hate your constant lies).

I always choose the hurting kind
(and I was badly burned) -
you'd think by now I'd get it right
(still lessons to be learned).
You play the game of love for fun
(I knew when I was spurned).

A lovely yet sad poem, Jack. Some people are born unlucky in love! I like the rhyme scheme you used. ~ Regards // paul
