Footprints

It doesnt work
this beauty I found
Meant for a different life
Washed into the sea

Founded the coast
With tides that won't subside
Meant for a different life
It used to feel so right

Such a strange place
Where the water was clear
Meant for a different life
I always wanted more

This isn't my life
Just happened to find
Ghosts from an older time

This isn't the way
But somehow I found
Footprints just like my own

It feels so strange
This body of mine
The voice that can't deny
Made with a faulty design

It all feels surreal
This doesn't seem right
I've seen too much
To still have my mind

They feel so alien now
Memories and a former life
That life was never mine
Another Failure by design

I wake up cold
As an arctic winter night
Breathing so fast
This isn't meant to last

This isn't my life
Just happened to find
Ghosts from an older time

This isn't the way
But somehow I found
Footprints just like my own
