Haha, no - believe it or not, I was always extremely quiet and shy. That pretty much continued into adulthood to the present. When I was in my late 20s, my boss required that I join Toastmasters to help me overcome my fear of speaking, so that I would speak up in meetings. I ended up quitting. I'm a bit better lately, but still have stage fright. For the first time in my life, I "performed" in front of people. I read my poem, "The Fly" at an open mic here in my retirement community. I'm thinking of trying to read something else next time, though the guy that runs it says they got complaints about the 3 or 4 poets vs. the 15 or so musicians. They want all musicians!
