Notes About The Poem

9/7/2026 for 1499 Sept Part 2 Poetry Contest sponsored by Brian Strand

Footles for Tea

just one
no fun

now two
woo hoo

have three
for tea

one more
makes four

now five
arrive

one's sore
now four

one flees
now three

one's through
now two

tea's done
just one

Hello David, this little parade of footles feels like watching tiny characters march in and out of a teacup, all charm, all timing. Funny in how the numbers behave like guests with moods of their own, arriving, fleeing, dwindling back to one. Even small forms can carry a whole story if you let them. Really enjoyed the whimsy of it. Blessings, Daniel
