Food Shopping

When you go shopping, do you browse
And stroll up all the aisles,
Searching for surprising “Wows!”
That might elicit smiles?

Or do you clutch your list in hand
And check off every item
That’s always purchased as you planned
Each time, ad infinitum?

No matter how you shop, at least
When you’re back home, unpacking,
You’ll know that chances have increased
For some impromptu snacking.

Ah, human nature. I do the shopping weekly and always write a list… a different column for each store I’ll visit and listed in the order I’ll find things in the store. It never changes… I should have it tattooed on my arm. Sometimes, I mislay the list and have to go by memory… I never get it wrong! But, yes… that irresistible something always seems to leap into my trolley (cart)… I’m left wondering, Ilene… are you having me followed? Marvellously observed. Terry

I almost always have a shopping list with me, but I don't always stick to it. I love browsing up and down the aisles. love this one, Ilene.
