Food For Thought Oh No Too Late

F ood for thought an interesting notion
O ne requiring significant thought
O nly then can I come up with
D elightful poetry like I ought
F irstly I must find the words
O nly then can I begin
R eally nothing comes to mind
T hink I need a double gin
H ave I gone and lost my muse
O r maybe writer’s block ensues
U nless I find it very soon
G etting late my head is sore
H ave we reached the magic number
T hirty four - room for one more?

This is a lovely fast flowing Acrostic sprinkled with witty magic dust, Ann. Congratulations on your top win. Regards // paul

Just about all writers endure this type of anxiety when the words elude us. Don't remember the contest for which your acrostic was written, Ann, but your poem stands well alone. I'm not partial to acrostics, but this is an exception. Very well done! Congratulations on your win in Brian's contest. Best wishes, Carolyn

Many thanks Carolyn, the contest was called Food for Thought with Silent One the sponsor and I missed the deadline because I left it just too late, hence the panic in my poem, haha! I am really delighted to receive top place in Brian's contest. Kindest thoughts to you from Ann xx

No I really was too late Caren, I started writing it after midnight and at that point there were 33 people, but by the time I had finished at 2.00 am, the competition had reached it's maximum number of entrants; oh dear such a shame! Oh well that will teach me not to leave these things to the last minute, haha! Thanks for your lovely comment Caren. Kindest thoughts Ann xx
