Fond of a Girl
I have grown fond.
Fond of a girl I did not expect.
She was innocent, she was sweet.
Personality in her no one could beat.
She stole my heart and it was forever.
She was eight years old when I first met her.
She was crazy, she was wild.
When I met her, it felt she was already my child.
A Daughter I now had.
It was hard to not smile when she knew she was being bad.
Elementary, Middle and soon High.
I have watched her laugh and I have watched her cry.
Everything she does brings me pride.
Watching her grow was my miracle of life.
She enlightens the world more than she knows.
Every day my love for her grows.
I am amazed, and I am blessed.
To have a Daughter, who completely fills my chest.
My heart is full, and I can’t lie.
It pains me every day that I can’t tuck her in at night.
She is my light, and she is my heart.
She is the reason my life has spark.
I have grown fond.
Fond of a girl I did not expect.
