Following
Following, as worldly craves
do follow sainthood as to slave
I followed not your weakness rave,
but as to God, in hopeful save,
I followed Him, to know your stave.
And of each instance, and through prayer
a confidence resolved aware,
became a knowing, and some share
of following not, but leading's fare.
As to new grace, contingent, spare,
I learned to think, His way, with care
and knew my heart could take me there,
to you, Oh love, without appall,
and so in manner, leading thus ~
For tending moments with thee ~ small,
ungainful, but as souled to us!
