Fog between US

We met in glances we never named aloud
Your eyes paused—mine turned that into hope
In borrowed seconds, I stitched quiet forever
You gave that same warmth to passing strangers
I stood there—almost yours, never becoming
Fog filled my eyes; yours never met mine
