Focus Now On Life
I have a solution
To my problems of the past,
To the specific issues
That seem to last and last.
When they rear their ugly heads again,
I'lll go to my safe place.
Who will get there first?
It's just the start of the race.
The memories will chase me.
They will rear their ugly head,
Especially since to this point,
To me they were just dead.
I'll grab a hold of my blanket
And try to disappear.
If I'm successful at this,
They'll be nothing left to fear.
Am I just kidding myself?
Will running away make things less clear?
I just wish I could vanish,
That nobody could see me at all.
Then I wouldn't have to worry
About taking a fatal fall.
I feel I cause more problems
Than my life is worth.
To hell I believe I'm doomed,
That I've already got my berth.
I know in my head
Many of these thoughts are not true.
So, I'll continue to move ahead,
And work hard to give my all,
To focus now on life, not on the dead.
