Flypaper World

They were given wings for flight,
By restless flapping to reach the Light.
Alas! on their upward flight they met
A trap all-glitter so cleverly set.
Stuck in the pleasures of worldly things
They twist and wriggle and lose their wings.
Back on the earth they grope and crawl
Forgetting their dream of bliss and all.

This is truly beautiful. I so loved the metaphor in it.
