Flying

What great perspective flying gives; The mundane is surreal; Wide angled eyes so clearly see Our Earth's greatest appeal. The land's a patchwork quilt of farms, And lakes look just like puddles; The rivers wind like slithering snakes, And clouds are soft as cuddles. Like breast of mothers oozing milk, Snowy mountains proudly stand; And dots of houses look like salt Coarsely sprinkled on the land. The cars all glisten in the sun Like jewels reflecting light; Distance, like a trompe l'oeil, Fools the eye and hides Earth's blight!
