Flutterby

If you catch a butterfly and then you let it go
Do you ever wonder where the butterfly will go
Will she settle in a tree or fly up to the sky
Perhaps the pretty butterfly will simply flutter by

Or will the little butterfly go off and lay some eggs
To make some caterpillars with a lot of little legs
They’ll grow by eating lots of leaves and then they'll make a shell
Inside they'll sleep and soon become a butterfly as well

So if you catch a butterfly be sure to set it free
For everyone around the world will smile if they should see
A very pretty butterfly as pretty as can be
And you can say a butterfly was once a friend to me

Thanks, Gary. Wasn’t gonna put it in soup, but my muse is thin right now so thought I would. Cheers. Terry

Hello Terry … you certainly have excelled yourself again with this well written verse. If it’s written for children you should put it out there - thank you Terry - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay, was written for a ‘family child’. Wouldn’t know where to start ‘putting it out there’, but thanks for your praise. Terry

I’ve noticed that, Tom. A bit of whimsy for the baby of the family. Terry

Thanks Gershon. Jotted this down when my great granddaughter talked about butterflies yesterday morning. Wasn’t meant for Soup but I thought, ‘Why not?’. Terry
