Flower Pot

You could have picked a sturdy branch
In the maple tree.
You could have picked the birdhouse
Or a place near the chimney.

Perhaps a bush, perhaps the brush
Might be where you'd feel best,
But still it's nice you chose my pot
To build your lacy nest!

Thank you for the sweet write. I loved the robins who nested in my maple tree.

Hello Raven, the robin built their nest in my hanging planter. So i never went near the nest. Until they flew away. it amazes me how the nest was built. That nest held 3 babies birds. Enjoy your day my friend.

True, we are honored when they seem to choose to live near to us. Sweet muse.

This made me smile. I have a hanging basket that gets a dove nest every year. This is perfect in it's mystery until the last lines. ~Jan

So cute ;) I like the way of choosing words that the mind is immediately creating images.

Thanks for your kind comment! I'm a children's poet so that's the direction the images take - tee-hee!
