Flower Child

Oh little angel of mine, you did not have to wait. You emerged from a garden, that grew by an ashen gate. When the leaves did unfold, so did my love for you. Your rosy cheeks so soft, that I did not think it true. Your tiny little baby fingers, grabbed me at the nose. You let out a little smile, as I tickled your small toes. And all the world remembers, the day you budded into spring. You climbed out of your spud, like a prophetic warrior king. Today you leave for earth, let all men grant you peace. Do good work in my name, and let no such love cease. You are no longer an infant, yet you will always be a son. As long as heaven calls you, this can never be undone.
