Flooded Love

Have lost his hands grip
Pa broke down as my hand slipped
I heard him crying my name
Now our lives can’t be the same

Free falling into the enveloping black
Beyond the edge of time I’d lost my track
Then I crashed into the ferocious waters
Carried away and further, my breath became shorter

I gave in, sinking into deep like a small stone
In the dead silence I wasn't alone
There was someone holding up light
Guiding us, leading us right

I no longer spun, I no longer rolled
Laying my faith in Him I followed without a hold

Crossing a gateway towards a second realm
A thousand soul's gleam
Came out of the stream
And out, into the night of dreams

Upward we rose
Higher and close
To a sky that bore
A million stars.

Here is where I now reside
But like his shadow I am by pa's side

He is safe back home
Feels tired and alone

But God's caring and kind
And I am not left behind
Difficult it is this way
But I am not far away

Clouded or crowded may be the sky
But do look up and care to smile
Because right here I am closer than you think
A glinting star at night
And in Sun silhouetted right behind

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

What a wonderful one dear one. Like u commented in Nihisha's poem abt Rape victim,I go with u dat rape is becoming a norm. But you ladies shud be more careful, don't trust easily and don't go to a man's house alone except you already want it. There are decent men but u can neva tell so its high time we come out globally to condemn this evil. My close female friend has being a victim recently from her family friendni never abandoned her. Love and warm hugs, Bob- Based On Belief.

I am dedicating my condolence to the victims of the uttrakhand floods through this poem. It is narration of a girl who has slipped down into the river and has died but not passed onto another birth. She is trying to be her father's shoulder!
