Floating With the Flow

To you who truly treasure self-respect,
has there been a humiliating
instance

when to succumb low, and sheepishly so,
to public opinion's
preponderance

is neither a betrayal of your worth
nor a slap to your reason's
countenance?

and spinelessly you go, float with the flow
of popular passion and
circumstance?

Nicely written. I especially like the first stanza. Keep writing. Sara
