Flirting In the Rain

She wore that blue dress tonight again.
Makes my heart ache on the verge of sin.
The way it whispers on her skin.
It looks like the wind.....flirting in the rain.
Flirting in the rain on our first date.
At Stephanie's house on the fire escape.
It was the best day of my life.
Right then I knew you'd be my wife.
It was one more time if I recall.
Downtown at the Baybrook mall.
You told me forever kid.
As I held your hand.
Like I never did.
We walked outside in the mundane.
There we were, flirting in the rain....

Engaging lines, Anthony -- a combination of Gene Kelly's Dancing In The Rain and a Russ Meyer flick. ;-) Congrats on your placement!

This is a very good poem with arguably the best use of the idiom as described by the rules of the contest. You combined the expression “Flirting in the Rain” both literally and as an idiom seamlessly within the context of your work. Thank you for the brilliant effort. Congrats on your 4th place win in the Create an Idiom contest!
