Flight To Discovery
Up, up, and away,
the day, is finally here.
The period, of coming home,
will now, truly appear.
Now I'm flying, over the land,
right above, the very sky.
Contemplating my part, in the war,
realizing there is nothing, I can deny.
With no doubts, and no regrets,
I as a soldier, did all I could.
If anyone, asks me, if there was anything, I then change,
I tell them, theres nothing, I ever would.
For I am, now a changed man,
from an experience, of which, I grew.
Now more, than ever, I became better,
in who I am, and what I do.
Me inward, celebrating with, my fellow soldiers,
after months,of being, where we, had to roam.
The crew on plane, then acknowledging the fact,
and gratful, of us, defending the place, we call home.
The plane soon lands, all soldiers cheering,
for a while, we know, that ourselves, we are able, to be.
All of us coming down the exit stairs,
realizing we should be proud, for what, we did, for the free.
