Flatline

My heart used to beat for you, Now it doesn’t beat at all, Don’t you remember? You promised to never let me fall. Remember the line we drew? Well, we’ve crossed that line, You pulled the plug on my heart, You watched me flatline. You brought me light, When I was in the dark, When my heart had stopped, You made it start. A lasting friendship makes it past the count of ten, Well, ours stopped at nine, You tore my heart out, And watched me flatline. You were my joy, When life was filled with pain, You were the sunny day, That drove out the rain. I know you hate me now, But that’s fine, Because you broke the rhythm of my heartbeat, And you’re watching me flatline.
