Flashing Lights

Walking down a road one night
I saw a car coming and before i could move
it hit me but before it did i had racing thoughts go in my head
and memories I had with my friends
those flashing lights made me remember

We were swinging by the lake
watching the sun come up
eating some icecream cake
then we were on a picnic cloth, holding hands, listening to old men talk
then falling in love
thats what flashed back in to my eyes
when i saw those flashing lights

3 years from that day i think back to what could have happened
but im glad im okay and that i am here still today
i have changed for the better and not let life pass me by
everday is another one and i will make the best of it
I will try not to cry so much
you never know tomorrow you could see those flashing lights

When you see those lights you remeber all the good times in your life
like holding hands on the beach, eating some wild icecream
going to london and relaxing in rome and calling greece your wonderful home
then seeing your kids grow old
those flashing lights remind you of your life and your shaky roads

Now im old and gray and i know my time is coming
as i lay there in my bed and i hear the angels humming
i look up into the sky and know its going to be alright
and feel my last breath coming and i see those flashing lights

I remember holding my baby girl and kissing my husband on my wedding day
i remember the way my daddy looked at me when he found out i was moving away
or when my mom used to call me every single day
but now i know its my time to go and everythings okay
those flahing lights are now fading away
