Flares, Fights, and Fireworks
All of my friends said,
“you’re so big and she’s so small, How can it possibly work?”
But the night we met at Charlie’s house
was nothing but fireworks
Of course since then I’ve been known
to throw a couple flares your way
But Hopefully I will learn from the mistakes that I have made one day
When I’m with you
I try really hard not to swear
Just because I know you don’t like it
and to show you that I care
Every night I’ve been with you
I didn’t get angry
and I didn’t get sad
I guess it’s just something to do
with all the great times we have always had
I’m hangin up these depressed boots,
Because I don’t need them anymore
They’re old,
they stink,
they’re all torn apart
Because they’ve taken many hard treks before
Now my life requires no shoes
Because I have you
And I’m headed for the seashore!
Just like how when we made the list
of all of the places where we should go
That’s one of those moments that I told myself,
this can really be love Joe.
I doubted that it could ever be possible in my life,
But I so strongly believe that I could have found my future wife.
