I like to write on my bed and don't have a laptop. So that is why I depend on those books. Anyway, I wish you the best in this contest when it gets judged!! I am very interested to see its winners.

I am interested as well; it was really a hard challenge but there were some really good entries. I’m glad I don’t have to judge it, especially when it is a prize contest.

Yep, the old Thesaurus too!! You should see how beat up my rhyming dictionary is. I can't even find all the pages to it any more.

John, I DID come up with something and hope to post it later tonight. I found it one of the hardest of all the challenges (well, Crown sonnet I need to get to soon and that won't be easy either). Anyway, the best way to do this type of poem is to research all the possible words for verbs, nouns, etc. I chose plural nouns and verbs. It's quite the interesting challenge, isn't it?

I agree, it was quite a challenge. It sounds like you approached it very systematically. I worked with an open Thesaurus to find synonyms so I could say exactly what I wanted to say..sort of. I look forward to seeing what you came up with. I'm sure you will be right up close to the top. :)

Wow you did it! It took me hours John. Every time I thought I had finished I found a six letter word! lol. Enjoyed this :)

You did an excellent and impressive job, John. The restriction on words in no way hampered the delivery of an intelligent and entertaining poem loaded with cleverness. This is a winner regardless of contest results! All the best ... CayCay

Thanks, Andrea. I think this is one of the more challenging contests we've had. I didn't realize how hard it would be until I started. But I'm sure you will be up for the challenge! :)

Hi John, I enjoyed the story you told using only five letters. The ending was sad but it happens all the time. Couples that are still together for a long time are blessed ( if they are still in love). I wish you the best of luck in the contest. PS , Was it hard with the restriction of only using five letter words? And you made it rhyme:-) Alexis

Alexis, thanks so much for your comments, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I found it to be extremely hard being restricted to 5 letter words. I had originally planned on doing 5 stanzas as well until I saw how hard it was. Thank you for your support!
