First Night Misery Chapter Five

I lay awake most of the night,
Although, I wasn't in too much pain,
Even though I tried to doze off,
I couldn't switch off my brain.
My hubby was extremely vocal,
Every time he moved around,
He was rather fidgety,
He made one or two gruff sounds.
My dog was restless,
I think it's because I moved his bed,
I did it to make more room for me,
So over it, I don't have to tread.
I had to get up once or twice,
Or maybe it could have been three,
It's a good job my crutches were close by,
For the many times, I needed to pee.
I finally got up at five thirty,
I struggled down the stairs,
I made myself a brew,
What a sad state of affairs.
I put my feet up on the sofa,
From upstairs, I could hear my dog snore,
I've hardly slept at all,
I'm surprised I haven't swore.
No doubt I'll catch forty winks later,
After my meds and physio,
Today, I will rest up,
Maybe back to bed, I'll go.

Hang in there Kay! You are amazing to be writing your way through it. :)

Thank you Heidi. Writing takes my mind off it all and is a way of putting a funny spin on it.... I have friends tell me that even through situations that are difficult, I have a way of making them fun and more bearable. At the end of the day, through all of this, I've had to laugh or I would have sobbed my heart out. :)
