First Mistake

First Mistake

You Think I Should Forgive You
Well, That Would Be Real Sweet
But I Think That I Should Tell You
For You...I No Longer Weep

I Gave Myself to You
And That Was My First Mistake
Because the Trust I Had in You
Made Me Lose What I Had at Stake

Well, They Say Live and Learn
And That's What I've Had to Do
Oh Yes, You Can Take it from Me
I Learned a Lot from You

Lots of People Know about Love
And They Can't Make it Stop
But Pain Can Do a Lot of Things
It Taught Me What Love Is Not

So Please Just Leave Me Alone
In Living, You Were My First Attempt
And I Have a Lot More Living to Do
But from That You Are Exempt
