First Love

I can't believe that it's come to this
I wanted to give you a chance
But you blew it
They tried to tell me 
That it would never work out
But I trusted you
And now what am I to do
Although you hurt me worse than you think
My feelings for you continue to stay the same
You were my first love
Thanks for what you have given me
I now know what love is like
I have learned to forgive and forget
This is what I have begun to do
I have slowly began to forget about you
