Fireworks Over the Ocean

Fireworks
over the dark ocean
wake me from black waves
to a circus in the sky
popcorn in the air
so many rings explode
lion’s mane
master’s cape
trapeze artists’ wide display
twirling clowns
fizzle down
everybody cheers
and when it’s done
and crowds move on
the ocean laps my ear.
