Firefly's In June
The sweet smell of babyskin and Ivory soap
waft up from my nightie.Feel the warm red
dirt of June underneath my tiny toes, who
knows what the night holds.Watching the
sun go down with anticipation,as my mother
gives little hands a jar with elation.
I will capture many a firefly,those
wonderful little gems in the dark sky.
Honeysuckle smell all around,as the warm
June breeze makes a low sound. These
memories sustain me,the wonders of
a magical night could be.
Childhood dreams of long ago, bring a
gentle smile to my lips,as i recall all
the gems i put in my jar.
