Fireflies In Glass Jars
Remember going to grandpa and grandma's house by the lake
All the fond memories there we did make
And I think the fondest by far
Was catching fireflies in a jar
We would chase their light in the tall grass
Trying to catch them in our jars of glass
Seeing who could capture the most
The winner got rights to brag and boast
We were awed by their illuminating light
To watch them gave us pure delight
In our jars we gazed at the fireflies glow
Until mom said okay sweeties time to let them go
At grandpa and grandma's we spent many summer nights and days
And one fond memory always sets my heart ablaze
All those fireflies glowing like little stars
And us chasing and catching them in glass jar
