Firef'Lies

My room is filled with fireflies I like to watch them shine They make my night brighter I enjoy the sight of the way the climb the walls Pretending to see luminescent waterfalls In the mornings i open the window so they can get some air I know they understand me as we express the same despair Only seen when wanted to be only imagined as something else But for what reason must it be i wish I could barrow their wings And they could fly away with me In the night they wander back so they can fill my empty room Unlike the fireflies I can never be seen as majestic waterfalls All I can be is empty in my mind and behind glowing morbid walls
