Fire and Ice

Your words are so cold
So manipulative and sour
Always stabbing me raw
Leaving me wounded
and battered
I push you away
To protect what self worth I have left
I sometimes think you take pleasure
Watching me cower and shake
Just when I think I have had enough
Can't possibly take no more
You pull me back in to your devil's lair
Once I am there you say you're sorry
You beg me to stay
Giving me false promises of happy
ever after tomorrows
My love for you
Is like fire and ice
Drawing me in
Than making me think twice
It's so twisted
This web that we've spun
I don't know of it's ending
Or if it's just begun
