Finished Yet

Finished Yet???
Dr. Jim Martin

Where will evening find you?
We rarely even give it a thought.
But is it really not true
That this activity should be sought?

Should we be content
To have wasted the entire day?
Should we, perhaps, repent,
And seek a better way?

I wonder how it would be
If at day’s end we find,
All that was relegated to me
Was completed exactly as timed.

Wasted hours will not be reclaimed.
Frivolity brings no reward.
This really should be proclaimed
And held in high regard.

Do what is committed to you each day,
Do not put off till next week.
Be as diligent in duty as in play,
And never slothfulness seek.
