Finding Home

Finding Home
By Kevin Robey
January 22, 2014

In the chaotic aftermath of my dashboard story
Where shadows can’t hide I find no glory
This isn’t the place where thoughts fade away
Leading me astray to the days the skies decay

Crimson with the sun from words I never say
Clouds reopening the scars of yesterday
Ready for me now I finally say out loud
Sheltered fears reveal to faces in the crowd

They have a name and I remember mine
The memories of mine that now realign
It’s suddenly clear the truths that I fear
Faces that say what the past couldn’t hear

Sing one more time as the light fades to black
Reopen these words before I take them back
And while I still contain a heart of the insane
Help me journey to the place I still remain
