Finding a Friend Child's Ideas

FINDING A FRIEND

I’d like to find a friend like you---
Someone smart who likes me too,
Who loves to run and jump all day,
Who’s lots of fun and likes to play.
I would like a mighty friend
Who’ll fight the bad guys if time ends---
Who plays in dirt and likes to swing,
Who hides in trees to hear birds sing--
Who makes a crazy funny face,
Who puts toys all back in their place,
Who wants to have a friend like me--
Who draws and paints and drinks ice tea--
A friend for the whole world to see,
A kid of kids-- a faithful tree
Who’ll stand beside me loyally--
When worlds crumble--when worlds fall!
She will be the best of all!
But when she hears her mother’s call,
Home she’ll go to eat and sleep
And then tomorrow back she’ll creep.
