Fighting the Pain

I take these pills to numb the pain
You inflicted on my soul.
My brush with you has left its mark,
Your love has been stone cold.

I let you come into my heart,
I gave you the master key.
You never gave me anything
All you ever did was lie to me.

It hurts to know that you’re gone
Our time I won’t forget.
Of all the times we spent together,
There are none that I regret.

I’ll wish you luck and pray for you,
I hope you find your way.
Until the day we meet again,
I’ll think of you each day.
