Fighting the Critics

The future is viewed with panic
Dreams are cracking
And hope is almost lost
Planning and fighting for tomorrow
Seem to vanish into thin air
Family in despair
Trusted friends no more
Gloom loom over the head of the traitor
For the hater have not stopped the perpetrator
And now I have become their next predator
Working hard to get to the top
Their accusations and castigations however deep
Kill him! They shout in my absence
But Hail him! The chorus they sing
When they see me
Fear has taken over the mind
Uncertainty now my close pal
Toiling to make ends meat
But the junction is where they meet
My critics are driving me slowly to the grave
And I have run out of the grace God gave
I refuse to die by the sword of their mouth
I shall not die I proclaim
Strength from above I claim
To put my fears ablaze
Living is achieving
Hoping is living
But the future they say is in believing
So don’t let the critics kill you
Their words are in vain
 Christ be praised
For one day I will be hailed.
