Fight Pt. 1

There is a man with an axe outside my door
He knocks, and gently whispers, "No more"

As he barges in
I slowly grin

We wage war
As soon as he walks through my door

We both fight
Deep into night

Him with an axe
Me with a fist
The night grows darker
And here comes the mist

We start to bleed
And the night will proceed

As the mist sets in
I start to win

For I am one with the mist
And heavier grows my fist

As I get a good punch
I swiftly flee
For if he hits me
I will most likely die
This is my alibi

As I run away
I hear him say
Come back to me!
So swifter I flee

Powerful and frightening poem, Matthan. I don't know what I'd do if a man with an axe appeared at my door. I don't exactly pack a good punch. How wise you are to "flee" when he urges you to come back. Nice work! Love, Carolyn
