Not dwelling on the day we fear, We nurture them with tender care, Watching in awe how fast they grow Until it’s time to let them go. Parental bond flatly defies The least comforting compromise, Keeping too close, holding most dear, Not dwelling on the day we fear. And when it comes we aren’t quite set To let them spread their wings just yet, Negotiating bitter truce - Embrace them tight or let them loose?! May 2, 2021
