Field Before the Gates

Young tears combat pain,
Yielding not to fear.
Ominous whispers echo,
Overwhelming all sound.
Unanimated shells reflect,
Upward bound hopes.
Resting in frozen agony,
Remembering someone.
Departed from families,
Drained of dear friends.
Empty hearts, not of love,
Eternal joy still a glimmer.
Air released in final breath,
All hurt becomes numb.
Dire thoughts fade to black,
Deity, march down the honor guide.
