Fiction

By Laura D September 24, 2016 We're not really living here Suspended in the atmosphere We're standing here, so crystal clear I'm fading fast, you're nowhere near We promised more; got by with less Found angels in a sweet caress We never thought we'd make it back Found solace in the aftermath We tore apart the city lights Found darkness in the air that night There never was a brighter place We finished such a hopeless race Now we're here without a sound The words escape this time around We'll never find the grand design By tracing where the stars align Just come on back to where I stand Walk down the street and hold my hand There's fiction in the air today Let's breathe it in while we decay
