Few have the courage

Few have the courage, To give trust another go, In this day and age, Especially if children are involved So when someone, Is the recipient of such a gift, They must give thanks to the giver, And make sure they know how big a deal it was to give out their trust, In this day and age, When there are a thousand reasons for not doing so, By being honest at all times, And cherish both the gift and the giver, Help lighten their burden when they can, But give back trust enough, For them to feel confident within themselves, By not being seen as one who wants to run their life, And hope that only good can come out of that, For the gift giver and the one accepting the gift, That twenty years from now the gift is in good repair, With no one is the worse for wear, That is why this sort of courage is rare, In this day and age.

So true! Trust is difficult in this day and age. A good poem. Well done.

I feel for my neighbor who is that position. I was an early childhood teacher for thirty years. Her boys keep turning up at our place. I mow her lawns. Father turns up infrequently and no help. Shoes ask for my help at times now. I looked after the boys at her place yesterday for an hour or so. Thanks for taking time to comment Jeanette.

Good of you to drop by. Was wondering how you were. I am 5 years cancer free now. Our eldest daughter just informed us a week ago that she is expecting identical twin boys her first pregnancy, due in August. Our first grandson turned 5 on 2nd Feb and is loving school.
