Festering Wound
When the world awaits a sense of guidance,
and finds none, there's a festering wound.
When countries grow weary for lack of leadership,
there's a festering wound longing for attention.
A wound festers where pain defies even the cure.
When politicians create agendas offering neither solution
nor opposition to downward spirals, there's a festering wound.
And wounds will fester where there is fear and lack of resolve.
When there are conflicts, pride, and no resolutions,
there's a festering wound inviting infection and death.
Wounds fester where ignorance becomes crown king.
A festering wound leads to disease, conflict, war, and chaos.
And finally, when the religious community is indifferent
and refuses to pray or repent, there's a festering wound.
