Feeling Colorado

I've been feeling Colorado
A need to breathe fresh mountain air
Climb high above the tree line
Leave behind life in despair

Gaze down into the valleys
Where flowers have grown wild
See life from a new perspective
As through the eyes of a child

High upon a mountain plateau
I'd let cold air caress my skin
As I bathe in her beauty
Cleansing me of sin

Those of moon and stars
Are sounds I want to hear
Far above humanity
Even farther from my fear

Closer to the heavens
Farthest from the sea
I'm feeling Colorado
It's where I long to be
