Feeding Mankind

Feeding Mankind We have to kill each other, it's determined in our genes. We have to maim and slaughter to fulfil inherent dreams. Fools believe man carries a peaceful heart of sorts, they look through rosy glasses and never see the warts. If everyone was equal and needed nothing more we'd still seek out a reason to start a bloody war. If nobody went hungry had food for all their needs, Mankind would go on killing for on killing Mankind feeds. Ivor G Davies

Hi, Ivor. I emigrated here a day ahead of you. You were the first to post, however. I like your poem, despite its pessimism. Personally, I don't feel the need to seek out a reason for war. However, I recognize that I live in a country with an economy based upon war. This was definitely "food" for thought. -- J. Ph. K.

I must say it's not every day you read a poem with such good rhythm and rhyming, and I like your touch of humour "and never see the warts" still there are those who don't look through rose but storm coloured glasses, and I think that's worse, a very good poem though, my view may differ slightly from yours, I will never be blind to true talent.
