February 6 2015

I use to think
That we were poor,
But that was way,
Way, way before.

Before the bull
That threatens to pull
Our family apart
That breaks my heart.

Everything was
So simple
Back when I had
Pimples.

Who knew that
Ten years later,
I'd face
A gator?

A gator that
Whines and cries
A gator that
Severs the ties.

Severs the ties
That bound us
Together,

Sever the ties
That survive
Any weather.

'Til death do
Us part would
Just be the start,
All 'long the way,
We'd break many hearts.
