Featherless Angels

"I truly believe that the featherless angels are those that God guides toward those in need, if it is a friend, family member, or stranger." Quote by poet

A dove in the sky an angelic sight
A flight through every moment of daylight.
A light drizzle of rain brought it to alight.

Not all angels on this earth have feathers.
Their warm grace fulfills, so inspires others.
To my soul their Love, they're not of blood sisters and brothers.

If I live on, or gone upon the dawn,
I won't fray or turn away from the human swan.
They might strum a lulling lullaby, but bring on
Ripen limbs of mercy, and compassion, not ever gone.

Dear Eve, i really love your quote, and i believe it too, sometimes they are known and some angels are strangers, that can truly lift us up in times of need! And i must highlight how beautiful your rhymes are! So captivating and leaves a mellifluous cadence too! Your opening lines stood out the most for me! Descriptive and creative and so heartfelt! CONGRATULATIONS on winning! Well deserved! Thank you for writing and sharing!

There are featherless angels among us, indeed, and unbeknownst, even to them, they are there ... This is a beautiful and thought-provoking poem, Eve. Very well written :)

Hi Eve, i was desperate when we were told that my father had 6 weeks to live. my dad and i were close, i couldn't bear it . I promised GOD that if i dressed in black for a year could He help then I Heard a voice quite clearly saying if you do that for me my girl I will heal your father. he lived a healthy life for a year and a half after that then in a couple of months later the cancer had metastasized and he passed on, perhaps it was an angels voice but it was loud and clear. Hugs, JEN.

As a family we have many stories of angels. So many times in our lives God's spirit equips humans as angelic messengers to those in need. So your quote and poetry, Eve, is so poignant. Only the other day an 'angel' visited my Dad in hospital. She didn't realise she was a messenger, but I saw His trademark and her featherless wings. Blessings Eve x

Poetry opens our minds to many possibilities and gives us more reason to hope than any other forms of communication as poetry communicates directly with our souls. This poem is a clear example of this. Too many things have happened in my life for me not to think I have a guardian angel. May your soul become settles as we move towards Christmas 2024 peace be with you David in NZ
