Fears above my ears

Welcome to the house of nightmares and fears
All of it lives above my ears
My thoughts run here and my thoughts run there
None of it will ever, ever be fair

I always imagine the worst will happen
Like one day my family will die at the hands of an assassin
Or worse yet it could be someone we know
Someone we love, someone we cherish, someone we have seen grow

"Stop, stop, STOP!" I scream inside
The deep, dark corners of my mind
Comfort and peace are so far from hear
From all of the fears above my ears
