Fear Rules Our Nation

Fear, sheer fear, rules this once-great nation

Fear of missing out, fear that a 'virus' will sprout
Fear of stating a belief, fear of catching some grief

Fear of normal give-and-take, fear of what may be at stake
Fear of political incorrectness, fear of any unpleasantness

Fear of feckless authority figures, fear of academic rigor
Fear that someone is offended, fear of a BFF upended

Fear of getting caught cheating, fear of being seen 'meat-eating'
Fear of a vaccine injection, fear of the slightest hint of rejection

Fear of COVID or BIRD-FLU or AIDS ~ Fear to NOT be afraid...

In '33 FDR told us the only thing to fear is Fear itself.
Let's embrace his message, take Courage down from the shelf

Fear is only the mind saying it does not know about something, so one conquers fear by finding out what one does not know, easily accomplished in this day and age by googling it. But one needs an education to correctly understand and evaluate what one reads, and our government insists education is not needed as long as we have a better armory than other countries. Canned laughter prevails . . .

Couldn't agree with you more, Rico... Another thought: Does any learning whatsoever take place in (most) schools today? I doubt it. Not much did when I was in college (1968-1972) either, but there were three courses in which the professors really wanted us to learn how to learn and gave us the opportunity. I was lucky enough to grab that opportunity. Can't imagine life if I hadn't. Cheers, gw

Unfortunately, Rico, there is a great deal of truth in what you wrote!

Amen, Gershon. Amen!!! I said something the other day and my friend told me I was awfully close to being politically incorrect. Do you want to know where I told him he could stuff that??? I'm getting really sick of people telling me what I can and cannot say because it might upset someone. And, as to CRT, while I'm at it, just teach the damned history the way it happened, period!

True Gershon. We need to be courageous. If lacking courage, yes, get it from that shelf! Great one :)

I stay away from the fearful, and it helps me be fearless. I advise this for everyone, Gershon.
